Theme - inward investment as a driver for skills supply
The theme of the members' lunch builds on the Friday Knowledge event on 27 March, where we highlighted the importance of integration. Attracting and retaining the right skills is a key challenge for employers - while many young people are outside the labour market without clear pathways into it.
Inclusion is about belonging: being listened to, being able to contribute and feeling like a natural part of a community. For employers, this is closely linked to how organisations recruit, manage and create inclusive environments. At the same time, the conditions are shaped early on, and the path into working life looks different for different young people. Therefore, inclusion also needs to be about opening doors. When people are excluded, it affects the individual, the supply of skills and the development of society.
