Green, yellow, red list
Allbright publishes an annual report analysing Swedish listed companies. The companies are listed on a green list (equal gender distribution, at least 40/60, in the management team), an orange list (there are both women and men in the management team, but there is not equal distribution) and a red list (women, or men, are missing in the management team). Of the Swedish listed companies, 25 % are on the green list, 61 % are on the orange list and 14 % of the companies are on the red list. Gender equality - Nordic perspective
Allbright's latest report also provides a Nordic perspective. Sweden has the highest proportion of companies on the green list and the highest proportion of women on management teams, 31 %, compared with 27 % (Norway) and 23 % (Denmark), but concrete, time-bound targets for representation are unusual in Sweden. Norway outperforms in gender balance on boards (statutory requirement since 2006, Norway 41 % women on boards, Sweden 36 % and Denmark 30 %) but shows that these statutory requirements for board representation do not ”automatically” change the culture or composition of management teams. Denmark is last in terms of most of the figures, but has a clear positive trend and is driving development with timed targets, clear follow-up and reporting requirements, while development has rather stalled in both Sweden and Norway.
The proportion of female CEOs is low in all three countries, Sweden 11 %, Norway 12 % and Denmark 4 %. The same applies to the share of female chairpersons: Sweden 10 %, Norway 8 % and Denmark 3 %. You can read the online version of the 2025 report here.
