DESCRIPTION:The European Commission has launched the 5th edition of the European Capitals of Inclusion and Diversity Award.\nThe award is one of the deliverables of the EU Anti-Racism Action Plan and the LGBTIQ Equality Strategy 2020–2025\, emphasizing that action at every level is crucial to create genuine change and foster a Union of Equality. The award celebrates cities and regions that promote inclusion\, equality\, and belonging among their residents. \nThe initiative highlights how local action is essential to building a Union of Equality and recognises towns\, cities\, and regions that lead by example in creating inclusive and diverse communities. \nThere are two main categories: \n\nUnder 50\,000 inhabitants\nOver 50\,000 inhabitants\n\n\nIn 2026\, there will also be a Special Award for local authorities promoting inclusive labour markets for all\, regardless of population size. \nAll EU Member State local authorities\, towns\, cities\, and regions can apply.
