Ulrika Wikberg

HR Director, Beijer Byggmaterial

1. What would you like to contribute to the Diversity Charter Sweden Board?

–  I want to contribute both thoughts and knowledge from my profession in HR and from my industry, the building materials industry. Representing an industry that has so much heart and commitment, but which may not always be perceived as such by the outside world, feels both fun and important.

I also hope that I can to some extent represent Sweden outside the big cities in the board work. Even though I now live in Stockholm, I am a "country boy" at heart, as I grew up in Kisa in southern Östergötland. Moreover, Beijer is located all over Sweden, from Kiruna in the north to Trelleborg in the south, so it is also important for us as a company to have a perspective that includes the whole country.

2. Why should a company join Diversity Charter Sweden?

–  Because together we gain more knowledge and don't have to reinvent the wheel each in their own room, and then we can be quicker to create change. Diversity Charter members are fantastic at contributing and spreading good examples and if you are a member there is so much "know how" to take advantage of. Plus, it's more fun together!

3. Unexpected feature?

- I'm a whiz at memorising song lyrics, which comes in handy in karaoke, which I love. Knowing the lyrics also hopefully makes up for the fact that I really can't sing!
